As a kid, I decided early on that I wanted to be an artist.
Not the starving kind, though. I needed a job that combined creativity with a fully stocked refrigerator. Then I discovered advertising. Bingo.
Since then I've racked up over 20 years of experience at major advertising agencies, interactive firms and global corporations. I've created effective, award-winning print ads, websites and TV commercials for Fortune 500 companies. More than just "cool ideas," these concepts helped build brands and generate revenue for clients including Coca-Cola, IBM, Land Rover, Microsoft, Quaker Oats and many others.
Armed with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Atlanta College of Art, I built my career at ad agencies such as
Tracy-Locke/DDB Needham, Levenson & Hill, Kerlick & Switzer/TBWA, Berry-Brown and Burton-Campbell. I also
did tours with top interactive shops Agency.com and Viant. No stranger to the corporate world, I've also spent several years leading creative teams at EDS and Insight.
To be considered a great idea, the message must also move the needle in the marketplace. If it wins a couple of awards along the way, that's nice too. Among the honors my work has received are British Design & Art Direction, Addy and Web Awards for creative excellence.
When I'm not trying to coax a brilliant idea out of a blank page, I enjoy spending time with my wife Cathy and our son Reggie. That usually involves enthusiastically supporting his many high school activities. I'm a voracious reader, a film buff and I occasionally hit golf balls into the woods.
